A exposição interativa Alquimia da Terra propõe uma profunda costura entre a História da Arte, a Geologia e a Química elemental dos pigmentos. Criada para desafiar o distanciamento contemporâneo em relação à matéria que nos cerca, a mostra convida o visitante a enxergar a cor não apenas como um elemento estético, mas como o próprio corpo físico da natureza e da criatividade humana.
The exhibition The interactive exhibition Alchemy of the Earth proposes a profound convergence between Art History, Geology, and the elemental Chemistry of pigments. Created to challenge our contemporary detachment from the matter that surrounds us, the exhibition invites visitors to see color not merely as an aesthetic element, but as the physical body of nature and human creativity itself. The research behind the exhibition The conceptual foundation of the exhibition is the result of years of studio and laboratory investigation dedicated to the characterization of inorganic and mineral pigments, the study of historical extraction routes, and the physical and chemical understanding of paint degradation mechanisms. By crossing artistic sensibility with the scientific rigor of the periodic table, the research reveals how the optical properties, permanence, and secular beauty of great masterworks are ultimately governed by the atomic structure of Earth's elements—such as iron, cobalt, lead, and cadmium.

A base conceitual da exposição resulta de anos de investigação em ateliê e laboratório, dedicados à caracterização de pigmentos inorgânicos e minerais, ao estudo de rotas históricas de extração e à compreensão física e química dos mecanismos de degradação das tintas. Ao cruzar a sensibilidade artística com o rigor científico da tabela periódica, a pesquisa revela como as propriedades ópticas, a permanência e a beleza secular das grandes obras de arte são governadas, em última instância, pela estrutura atômica dos elementos da Terra - como o ferro, o cobalto, o chumbo e o cádmio.

O formato e a jornada do visitante / The format and the visitor's journey
Planejada como uma experiência interdisciplinar e de acessibilidade pedagógica, a mostra divide-se em núcleos complementares que guiam o público por uma jornada tátil e conceitual:
Rotas e Territórios: Um mapa-múndi interativo que localiza as jazidas históricas de extração de minérios e os grandes centros de manufatura industrial, conectando a geografia global diretamente às obras que moldaram nossa história visual.
Processos e Matrizes: Bancadas dedicadas às dinâmicas de transformação da matéria, ilustrando como o bloco de rocha bruta e o barro são purificados e moídos até se tornarem pós aveludados e puros.
A Matéria Elemental: Uma interface digital que conecta o universo do ateliê à Tabela Periódica, permitindo ao visitante desvendar quais átomos e grupos cromóforos dão vida a matizes específicos.
Planned as an interdisciplinary and pedagogically accessible experience, the exhibition is divided into complementary clusters that guide the public through a tactile and conceptual journey:
Routes and Territories: An interactive world map that locates historical mineral extraction deposits and major industrial manufacturing hubs, connecting global geography directly to the artworks that shaped our visual history.
Processes and Matrices: Workstations dedicated to the dynamics of material transformation, illustrating how raw rock blocks and clay are purified and milled until they become velvety, pure powders.
The Elemental Matter: A digital interface that connects the studio universe to the Periodic Table, allowing visitors to discover which atoms and chromophore groups give life to specific hues.
